Maid-Rite Roof Collapses! |
Well, the canopy, at least.
Who would ever have thought it??? A Lexington icon has been vandalized by the weather! During or following the snowstorm of
February 26th, 2013, the canopy over the drive-in spaces at Maid-Rite collapsed. It was a very wet, heavy snow and there
was a strong wind and many trees suffered as well. But this picture of an old stomping ground will send a pang to the hearts
of Old Lexingtonians...

And a few weeks earlier, a trash truck going east in the alley at the other end of the same block went over the edge and fell over on the roof of a laundromat! More excitement than the folks in that neighborhood really want!
