Wall Signs, Part II
In the last issue we showed you some modern wall signs in Lexington. Looking around, we have found three surviving wall signs from the past. But we need your help in identifying them.
This is on the side of the old Jack Mason dealership, presently the Lafayette Glass Company. This one is pretty easy to make out.
We can make out that much, but the rest baffles us. This is the site of the former Lexington Frozen Food Lockers, on Franklin Ave. Presently it is the Lexington Senior Center. Scott '66 Simnitt is trying to locate a photo that will show the sign. Scott's father, Howard Simnitt, was the last owner of the lockers. In the meantime, can anyone else help?
The west side of the Old Town Tavern, on South Street. The beer is the White-something Beer, in blue letters. Given the stories about low dives that have appeared in the TLC newsletter, surely some of our readers can furnish the missing words!
(We do not mean to imply that the Old Town Tavern is a low dive! Only that some of our readers seem to spend time in places that sell various brands of beer.)
